YNW Melly (Jamell Demons) was charged in February 2019 with two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing his two close friends Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy) and Anthony Williams (YNW Sakchaser) in October 2018, then staging the scene to appear as a drive-by shooting. He pleaded not guilty. His first trial ended in a mistrial in 2023; a retrial is pending.
