Eminem's early albums (The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP) contained frequent homophobic slurs and violent anti-gay imagery. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) called for a boycott of the 2001 Grammy Awards when he was nominated. He has since performed with gay artist Elton John and expressed regret for some language.
